how to enter

Entries can be submitted by either the client company or organisation, or their search agency in one of the following ways:

To enter, please complete the online entry form or alternatively, please download the entry form and upload this when prompted on the entry page. If you are entering using the online entry form, we recommend you write your text in a word processing package before copying the information across. 

All entries* will be charged an administration fee of $100 per entry which must be paid by card when submitting your entry or entries. Please ensure you read the Terms and Conditions before submitting an entry.

*Entries in the Young Search Professional and US Search Personality will not be charged an admin fee.

Where entries are for collaborative work we ask that you ensure all partners are made aware and approve your entries before submission. 

SEMPO FREE ENTRY

SEMPO are supporting the US Search Awards and in return all SEMPO members have the opportunity to make one free entry into a paid category of their choice. Once you have uploaded your entry or completed the online entry form via the red Enter Now button at the top of the page you will be taken to the payment page. Please select the Free SEMPO entry option and enter your 7 digit member number to complete the upload.

Member numbers may only be used once and if you plan to enter the same work into more than one category you should upload your entry again into the relevant other category / categories and these will attract the standard administration fee.

The Judging Process

All entries received will be recorded and collated. The panel of judges will be sent entry forms only for pre-scoring. Please note if there is a high volume of entries received we reserve the right to split the entries and judging panels to reduce the time constraints on individual judges. The shortlists will be determined by judges pre-scores. These will be announced on Monday 1 September. Judges will meet to discuss the highest scoring entries, consider any supporting materials and agree the winner for each category. The winners will be announced on the evening of Wednesday 8 October 2014. 

Judging Criteria (Campaign Awards 1 – 12)

The judges will be looking for clear objectives, creative and effective implementation and tangible and demonstrable results in the campaign award categories. They will also consider the structure, presentation and clarity of each entry. Entries should not exceed 1000 words in total and should relate to work undertaken between July 2013 – July 2014.

Each entry must include information under the following headings:

  • Total budget
  • Objectives
  • Strategy & target audience
  • Creativity & implementation
  • Results & evaluation

Any entries that do not include information under all of these headings will be marked down. If appropriate you may include one set of supporting materials.

Judging Criteria (Innovation / Software Awards 13 - 15)

The judges will be looking for a clear description of an outstanding blog, innovation or product, with indication of budget. Judges will be looking for new features / tools added in the last twelve months for the software awards. They will also consider the stracture, presentation and clarity of each entry. Entries shoud not exceed 1000 words in total and should relate to work undertaken between July 2013 – July 2014. 

Each entry must include information under the following headings:

  • Total Budget
  • Overview of the innovation / product
  • Why you think your entry should win

Any entries that do not include information under all of these headings wil be marked down. If appropriate you may include one set of supporting materials. 


Judging Criteria (Team / Agency / Individual Awards 16 - 20)

Judges will be looking for agencies, teams and individuals that can demonstrate an ongoing and sustained commitment to delivering best practice while showing a creative and innovative approach to search. Judges will also consider the structure, presentation and clarity of each entry. Entries should not exceed 1000 words in total and should focus on work completed between July 2013 – July 2014.

Each entry must include information under the following headings:

  • Details of the team / agency / individual
  • Agency / individual objectives
  • Recent campaign example
  • Recent achievements
  • Challenges
  • Why you think your entry should win

Any entries that do not include information under all of these headings will be marked down. If appropriate you may include one set of supporting materials.

Entries for the Young Search Professional category must include the nominees date of birth and their age must be 25 or under on the date of the awards ceremony of 8 October 2014.

Please upload any supporting materials along with your entry form. Please note that these documents must not exceed 2MB each. Alternative please send these by email to rowan@dontpanicprojects.com

Supporting material will not be kept for collection, and will be securely destroyed following the awards ceremony. Please note that entries will be pre-scored on the basis of the entry form only, supporting materials will be considered in the judging session to determine the winners.
